Internet Explorer’s market share dips further
Internet Explorer, Microsoft’s hit and highly appraised browser, has suffered a loss of market share to newer more consumer experience focused browsers.
The likes of Safari, Firefox and Google Chrome have seen their market share rise lately and 2010 has seen their best performance since their launch. 2010 has seen that Google Chrome has now got an advantage over Safari, a browser launched by Apple inc. Although IE still has a 67% market share, it has been projected that by May 2010 that market share could drop to 50%.
From experience, I switched over from IE to Firefox around 3 years ago – I immediately found it faster, with less bugs and an amazing array of add ons. It suits me perfectly, and as an SEO Consultant by day I love the professional add ons that are available.
But, around four months ago, I also tried out Opera – and the speed amazed me. It is by far the fastest browser.
I have tried Google Chrome, and it is okay – very clean and minimalistic. Apple’s Safari however has always been a wild card to me and doesn’t offer the same experience as any other browsers.
What broswer do you guys use?

I can see why internet explorer is declining, especially when you are into web development, ie seems to always fail where firefox don’t. Personally i prefer firefox, it has great plugin support and is more stable and reliable than ie. But with web development i use both to check browser compatibility. By the way i forgot to mention this is a great blog! how comes its so clean though, wheres your ads?

Thank you for your opinions Sud!
The reason my blog is so clean is because I want to remain readership orientated, and want to offer readers the best possible viewing experience without the use of Ads, which I feel serve as a distraction.
Its all about customer service

Hi Chris,
I got these figures from CNET.co.uk. The figures are for the whole world and what people use – and not defined to one country
. I respect your additional comment and thank you for the contribution.
See this is a comment! A contributory sentence or two which builds up on an original post or discussion. All you ‘Buy Garden Shed’ guys (you know who you are) can keep dreaming
.
Thanks Chris
