Tim Cook may have only just become Apple’s CEO this month, however that doesn’t mean that the departure of Steve Jobs will make for a bad event with Tim Cook taking center stage for the first time as Apple’s new CEO. Yes, we finally have an unofficial official  iPhone 5 event date, and as AllThingsD have reported it is set for October the 4th. In the upcoming event the iPhone 5 (or iPhone 4S) is expected to be shown to the world for the very first time, bringing with it new specifications and features which should make the iPhone up to date compared to current offerings on the market.

Whether or not Apple is going to be able to create the solid event of previous years is as of yet unknown, though, as without Steve Jobs Apple may need to contact an events agency to get the solid feedback they need.

AllThingsD’s sources are apparently individuals close on the matter, and with their past record with sources, we reckon this one’s a go go.
