Kindle e-book lending scheme now a reality

With the Kindle 3 now being Amazon’s best selling product ever, owners of the Kindle app can now lend their e-books to friends who have the Kindle app on their iPhone BlackBerry, Android handset, PC, Mac and iPad.
It was only last year that Amazon spread their thoughts on how the Kindle could introduce e-reading to everybody in the world, and now the concept has become a reality.
Owners of the Kindle app can lend their e-books to their friends for a total lending scheme time frame of 14 days, enabling people to read pretty much any book if they put their mind to it. Currently only a selection of e-books can be loaned, due to rights issues and publishers’ decisions to opt in to the program. In addition to this, the person lending the book cannot read it while it is loaned to their friend either (sort of like the traditional paper/hardback method, then).
