Kindle Fire 2 may rock 8.9″ display, according to manufacturing suppliers
Who ever said that rumors surrounding the Kindle Fire 2 are way too soon? Well to be fair, they actually are. The Kindle Fire was only officially unveiled back in September and as of yet it hasn’t had an official launch, or made its way in to consumer hands. So what’s this? A Kindle Fire 2 rumor? You betcha’.
According to manufacturing suppliers for Amazon’s tablet, the next generation Kindle Fire, the Kindle Fire 2, may very well rock an 8.9″ display instead of the current generations 7-inch one, for reasons which we can’t work out given the Kindle Fire is great for being portable.
These rumors come from Digitimes sources, who in talks with them, stated that the Kindle Fire 2 may pack an 8-inch display however confusingly also said that Amazon may release 9.7- to 10.1-inch models in 2012 too. Overall, we’re not so sure of these sources, and it’s far too early to speculate about a sequel device when the first one isn’t even in stores yet.
