Maingear Releases Solo 21 AIO Desktop
Maingear is well know for its line of high-end PC gaming rigs, but the New Jersey based PC vendor occasionally veers away from its roots in order to tap into other PC mediums such as business oriented notebooks. Today, Maingear has decided to officially announce their foray into the volatile world of All In One (AIO) computers, with the introduction of the Solo 21. The new desktop is not specifically designed as a gaming rig, but this is strictly do to its sleek, uniform design that most AIO abide by. Thus making it very hard to squeeze a decent dedicated GPU into the chassis.
The Solo 21 comes with a 21.5-inch, LED backlit 1080p HD display, with an available 10 point multi-touch option. It is powered by an Intel Core i3 2125 CPU clocked at 3.3GHz, and can be upgraded all the way to an Intel Core i7 2600S. It can be configured with anywhere between 4GB -16GB of high speed DDR3-1333 RAM. It comes with a 500GB HDD and can be configured to hold up to 2TB of HDD storage. Furthermore you can opt to upgrade the standard DVD drive to a Blu-ray drive. A built in webcam assures smooth video chatting. Built in connectivity options include WiFi and Bluetooth. Wired connectivity options include LAN, HDMI, a plethora of USB 3.0 and 2.0 ports. Windows 7 Home Premium is the OS of choice for this system. Prices start at $999 and quickly escalate from there.
However the real cool feature this AIO is packing, and this feature was implemented by Maingear, is the 32GB SSD caching drive that comes standard with each configuration. NVELO Dataplex software ensures the high speed memory drive handles all your data in an orderly fashion.
