Microsoft has bought Skype, official announcement tomorrow

In the world of looming corporate buyouts including Facebook and Google being in the running for a possible takeover of Skype, Microsoft appears to have beaten them to it with an estimated $7 Billion buyout of the VoIP company, who had over 663 million registered users as of late 2010. All of this is according to The Wall Street Journal who have stated that Steve Ballmer and the VoIP company are finalizing a negotiation that’s worth more than a whopping $7 billion.
As Engadget have reported, an announcement is expected tomorrow regarding the acquisition, in which Steve Ballmer is expected to spill the beans on the deal for everybody to see. Let’s just hope MS don’t apply Times New Roman into the mix. Ugh (we’ll keep you updated, btw).
