MWC: Acer Iconia Smart Is Half Smartphone, Half Tablet

Well lookie here! We can finally add an update to a post we made way back in November of last year (this one, for reminders) on Acer’s 100% Smartphone, 100% tablet which they showed off in New York.
At this years MWC one of the first tech sites to get their hands on the real deal was Engadget, and the device now has an official name; The Acer Iconia Smart. Boasting a staggeringly beautiful 1024 x 480-resolution display, this Smartphone (u hum, tablet) is very long, however it has to be said that the 4.8-inch widescreen panel makes it incredibly unique amongst all the traditional Smartphone offerings on the market, and viewing pictures on the device looks like a brilliant experience indeed.

One thing we have picked up on is the chunkiness of the device, because on pictures it looks really quite thick compared to the Galaxy S II, and even iPhone 4. I suppose this is a sacrifice one has to make for a screen of this size, though. And we’re happy with that.
Overall I personally like the look of the Iconia Smart, it appears to have singled itself out as a truly unique Smartphone / Tablet PC amongst all the other MWC offerings so far.
