If you ever needed proof that Myspace needs to seriously re-consider exactly where they want to be within the next 3 years, the once hit social networking site has now dropped out of the UK’s top 10 social media websites, being beaten by the likes of Stumbleupon and Moshi Monster, two websites not everybody would have put money on being quite as popular. This news comes from Hitwise, who collected data from numerous sources across the internet in order to calculate which are the most popular social networking websites.

“MySpace traffic has been on the decline for at least three years now but this is the first time the social network has fallen out of the Experian Hitwise top 10,” explained James Murray from Hitwise.

Overall this is sort of in the midde when it comes to ‘surprising news’. On the one hand, a brand as well known as Myspace should be doing well without the aid of vast social media marketing, but on the other they appear to need to do something in order to get back to their former glory. Oh well, Facebook and Twitter it is for now. Long live social media.
