Oh Myspace you really are in trouble, aren’t you? According to recent reports Myspace traffic dropped by over 10 Million between the months of January and February 2011, a 14 per cent reduction that puts its net headcount to 63 million.

All of this comes from Comscore’s latest Media Metrix table, which shows us that despite quite heavy promotion recently (and a newer more simplistic logo) Myspace has lost a staggering 50 million users since last February 2010 which is a very high number indeed. The majority of this is down to Facebook, who’s rise within the social networking market trumped Myspace and other competitors such as Bebo.

Within the online marketing world Myspace is a haven for backlinks, which means that on numerous occasions the site has been blasted as a spam model. This however is nothing compared to Facebook, where the average user will come across a link spam page atleast twice a day.
