New Sony Ericsson accessories have a Green Heart

On the 3rd of June Sony Ericsson announced ‘Sony Ericsson Extras’ – the new name for its accessories portfolio. Products within the brand new Sony Ericsson range are to be split across four categories – ‘Talk, Play, Listen and Go’.

Under the new name, Sony Ericsson also announced two new Bluetooth Headsets – the VH110 and the VH410. Both headsets are part of Sony Ericsson GreenHeart initiative and are made from recycled plastics, finished with water-based paint and come in environmentally friendly smaller packaging to reduce waste. They have a talk time of 10 hours, standby time of 350 hours and will be available in August.

Sony Ericsson’s GreenHeart is committed to reducing CO2 footprint for their overall activities with 20% by 2015, Reducing the CO2 impact of the whole lifecycle of their phones with 15% by 2015 and collecting 1 million phones yearly though their own global take back program by 2011.
