Next Zune could be a handheld Xbox too
Sony has the PSP, Nintendo has the 3DS, and Microsoft has nothing except some Xbox Live integration in WP7. Of course, that all could change with the release of the rumoured ZuneHD2 (ZuneHD shown above, partly because it’s revelant and partly because I’m totally in love with its industrial design).
ZDnet has branched out saying that the Zune and Xbox services will soon roll into one mobile device, providing a competitive gaming experience and the stunning media playing experience the Zune already has, essentially killing and then resurecting the Zune brand as we know it. Thinking about it, there are worse ideas, the ZuneHD is the best dedicated media player on the market (note: not apps, or browsing) but when stacked on a shelf next to an iPod people are drawn to the multipurpose aspect of the iPod. Whatever happens, something big needs to happen with the Zune brand. Zune X anybody?
