Nintendo 3DS sells 5 million in Japan, ooo-rah!
If you thought that the Nintendo 3DS was a little bit of a gimmick product with 3D being only an emerging technology, you might be impressed with Nintendo’s latest sales figures because they have passed the huge 5 million milestone in native Japan, only 12 months since it was released there originally on the 26th February 2011. What this means is that the 3DS is Nintendo’s fastest selling gaming console of all time, smashing the Nintendo Wii by 1 million during the same period.
Whilst these sales figures are astonishing however one does have to wonder how Sony’s PS Vita is going to fare in the UK and Japan markets. Hopefully it’ll do pretty well, as we’d like to see a Sony come back, however only time will tell.
