I am sure you will have heard by now that the death of Nokia’s once flagship operating system Symbian is imminent. This could be considered either sad or good in many ways, however it will always live on (for the foreseeable future at least) in low end handsets and mid range non-smart mobiles within your local store.

Nokia signing a multi million pound deal with Microsoft to integrate Windows Phone 7 within it’s handsets has already sparked concept designs from Nokia themselves, however until at least a year we still have Symbian phones to cover at Technology Blogged and Nokia has just officially announced two new Symbian smartphones that will tout a new and enhanced version of the flailing operating system that is Symbian, nicknamed ‘Anna’.

On top of the two new devices Nokia has revealed, current smartphones will also see the Anna upgrade before short.

The first devices to get the Symbian Anna update will be the newly announced Nokia X7 (see image above) and the business-centric Nokia E6 which sports a full QWERTY keyboard to enhance the improved OS which has added split-screen views whilst inputting text and a faster, easier to use browser. The improved OS is also to be rolled out across a number of existing devices including the Nokia N8, E7, C7 and C6-01 handsets.
