Palm announce WebOS 1.3.5 update
Palm, the developers of WebOS, a brand new OS for the Palm Pre have announced that there will be an update of the already highly praised operating system.
WebOS 1.3.5 is due to arrive in January 2010 which will be before the Android 2.1 update. Palm CEO, Jon Rubinstein, spoke during Palm’s recent quarterly investor conference call and stated that;
“The 1.3.5 update will let customers download and store more applications, enhance WiFi and application performance, improve battery life, and increase Pixi speed and responsiveness”
A seemingly fantastic update to say the least. With WebOS being far better than Android 2.0, both for functionaility and speed this update is sure to take off.
I think Palm will keep this OS privately owned as to keep their phones utterly unique.
I hope the next gen phone will be as well designed as the OS, with a nice glass screen and aluminium frame. The Palm Pre is beautiful but hopefully we will see a phone with an AMOLED display and 3.5 – 3.7 inch screen < and of course a larger QWERTY keypad.
