Pelican Camera array makes your future smartphone thinner, flashier
You look down at your smartphone, it’s thin. Really thin, but imagine how much thinner it could be if it wasn’t for those pesky camera modules stuffed inside their shell, giving us glorious megapixels for our eyes to feast upon. Enter Pelican, who’ve designed a camera array made up of lots of smaller sensors stitched together to create a single much bigger and sharper image without having all the bulk of a single module. One of those “why didn’t I think of that” moments, for sure.
No word as to when this will turn up in anything we can get our hands on, but as always we’ll keep you abreast of any new developments.
