Peugeot HR1 car features gadgets, hi-tech future for Peugot

We tend to not cover the automotive industry here at Technology Blogged unless of course news is notable, mainly down to preference and readership orientation and partly down to the fact that we like our cars fast. It is safe then to presume that the words ‘green’ and ‘eco’ do not really float our boat, and you’d be right. But certain vehicles do float our boat, such as the Tesla – which is one of our favourite cars of the last 2 years and a true statement and power push towards the global target of ‘alternative energy’.

So then you might be wondering that if we like our cars fast, then why choose a Peugeot of all manufacturers to write about? Well the simple answer to that is technology implementation, because this Peugeot HR1 Concept which is being showed off at the Paris Motor Show has something special lurking within, and as you can see above, comes complete with what appears to be an Archos tablet of some sort. Details on it are otherwise a bit light, but the tablet does apparently dock with the car and connect to the in-dash system, which itself boasts a heads-up display and a movement recognition system that’ll let you scroll though options (and attract passers-by) with a wave of your hand.

That isn’t the main thing that Peugot are promoting with this concept though, because they’re pushing the fact that this car is a hybrid, which can achieve 81 miles per gallon, a good achievement that could make me sell my car. Peugeot also says it doesn’t currently have any plans to actually bring the vehicle to market, which is a shame, because i’d quite like to have a tablet controlling my media in my car.
