Philco PC Concept: Stunning

The 50′s are a decade which many people do not look back on for design innovations. However a company named Philco have come up with a PC Concept which is quite simply stunning.

These prototype images developed by chultzeWORKS design studio show that inspiration has clearly been drawn from 50′s television screens as well as type writers.

I particularly like the cheese wedge pre-slanting keyboard design and that chunky mouse, however can’t help but think it looks a little bit ‘wobbly’ being on those thin chrome legs. Also I am not sure whether the typewriter type keys would function very well compared to a traditional keyboard (keys inbuilt).

I love shiny things though and so love this design, PC’s are certainly getting weirder and weirder every day however with this completely breaking all ‘weird’ PC offerings to date also think of it as a little bit innovative in terms of modern design meets old fashioned functionality.
