Playstation Network Update: Sony Confirms Credit Card Details May Have Been Taken

Are you an avid Playstation Network user? Then we have some bad news for you regarding the network being down currently, because according to an official Sony blog post, your credit / debit card details may have been compromised. In the blog post, Sony stated that; “your credit card number (excluding security code) and expiration date may have been obtained.”
Over in Sony UK the chaps threw us a bit more light on this situation hours ago and quite frankly we wish they hadn’t, because it is not good news. In this blog post (link to Sony UK), Sony UK has stated that these are the details they they believe could have been obtained:
Name, address (city, state/province, zip or postal code), country, email address, birthdate, PlayStation Network/Qriocity passwords and login and handle/PSN online ID. It is also possible that your profile data, including purchase history and billing address (city, state, zip), and your PlayStation Network/Qriocity password security answers.
The scary thing about this whole situation is that Sony has no idea currently exactly what details have been taken, and seem to be just chucking up a list to warn you of the seriousness of the situation. The Sony UK blog post goes on to say that they are working on the issue, and they thank you for their patience.
