Samsung and RealD announce licensing agreement on panels
In the world of 3D technology news goes slowly across our eager eyes for reading, and well in to last year we covered this news story regarding Samsung and RealD partnering up. More than a year on, and things are looking on for 3D displays for the wider public, after the companies have announced that they’ve struck a licensing deal for display panels, which promise to give us full resolution HD images to each eye by applying active shutter technology directly within an LCD display.
Time wise you’re looking at around mid 2012 for 23 – 27 inch PC monitors / smaller televisions, and early – mid 2013 for 55 inch variants, although this isn’t a go go.
