Samsung partners with RealD: 3D for the masses
Do you remember the battle between HD DVD and Blu-ray? Organisations worldwide didn’t know who to invest in, and one of the first companies to invest was Sony with their PS3 – who opted for Blu-ray.
Now it is the turn of 3D, and as the ticket sales for Avatar begin to decline certain organisations interests in different types of 3D have been looming.
Now, Samsung has jumped the bandwagon and signed RealD in a partnership which will hopefully see Samsung become the first manufacturer to offer 3D television based on subscription services.
In a statement, The Visual Display apartment at Samsung said;
“Together, we are committed to enhancing the TV viewing experience with the best that 3D technology can offer including immersive, lifelike depth and a new realm of color clarity,” Dongho Shin, senior vice president of Samsung Electronics’
RealD’s competitors include XpanD and Dolby 3D.
