Samsung aims to overtake HTC in smartphone market

Samsung, one of the worlds leading manufacturers of electronic devices, has vowed to overtake HTC in the smartphone market and become the 4th biggest smart phone brand by December 2010, said Samsung’s mobile division chief.
Sliding WM to the side, Samsung have stated that the majority in the next line up of phones will run there own OS ‘Bada’ (translated ocean in Korean), with others running Google’s Android OS. Samsung have also said that they hope to ship over 18 million smartphones this year, and they could well do it. So far Apple, HTC, RIM and Nokia own the majority market share in the mobile phones market.
The smart phone market is said to increase by 28% in 2010, according to Market research firm Strategy Analytics (SA). If Samsung can create great phones at great prices, then we could see the new 4th biggest smart phone brand.
And so the question on everybody’s lips is – can Samsung capitalise on this? Even though people always say ‘if you want an Android powered phone, get a HTC’? > Samsung will have to change this perspective people have I think. In the meantime I shall look forward to trying out their new mobile phones.

HTC will always be the number one for Android – Samsung phones are for kids.
all businesses need market research to make sure that a product will succeed.`:-
