Skype 5.4 for Mac lets you chat to your Facebook pals, for free

If you are the sort of guy or gal’ who sits at your computer on a night watching your Facebook wall pass by, chatting with your mates on Facebook Chat whilst also enjoying the abilities of Skype, then we have some good news. The latest version of Skype for Apple’s Mac OS X now features Facebook connect integration, allowing you to get in touch with your Facebook buddies through Skype and make free voice and video calls as well as send out instant messages for free. Keen to also create a solid reason to use Skype for this, you also have the ability to now import your Facebook news feed in to the application to keep tabs on what is happening within the social world around you. Neat huh?
Overall, we reckon this is a neat new feature for Skype and it should bring it in to the 21st century and away from the overall feeling of being a desktop only application. The only question is whether you’d rather just use Facebook in the first place, though.
