Sony Japan: NGP To Ship On Time
Have you ever wondered what would happen to a Japanese hardware technology brand if an absolutely destructive natural disaster ever hit their main operations? Then chances are you thought that their future launch for products might be delayed slightly, however this isn’t the case for Sony, who have announced that the production lines for the Sony NGP have seen “no impact from the quake on our launch plan”.
Going further, Sony Japan’s Satoshi Fukuoka said that “[The earthquake] may be the straw that says ‘maybe we get to just one market by the end of the year’,” and then said that the NGP would be released “in at least one territory 2011”. This could mean a slightly structured launch plan, whereby Europe would most probably see the NGP first.
So what do you guys think, will Sony make it in time to compete with Nintendo’s 3DS come this Christmas?
