You can take this with a pinch of salt however new rumours have surfaced online that the Sony PlayStation 4 could arrive pre-Christmas 2013 with it currently running under the codename ‘orbis’. The rumours, based on a report from Kotaku quoting a reliable source, also went on further to add some possible specifications to the rumour mill. So what are these specifications you ask? Well according to Kotaku, the PS4 will rock an AMD x64 CPU and an AMD Southern Islands GPU which when coupled together will create a very poweful media console indeed. The bad news? Kotaku’s source is also quoted as saying that there will be no PS3 backwards compatibility within the PS4, which if you remember happened with PS2 games when the PS3 was released.
“The console’s name—or at least its codename/working title—is apparently Orbis. And it’s being planned for release in time for the 2013 holiday season,” the Kotaku report announced.
Head on over to our source link below to find out more about these PlayStation 4 rumours. Kotaku, of course, stresses that some specifications can change between now and the PlayStation 4 release.
