3d glasses

We’ve all been there, and trying to find the right pair of glasses for a 3D cinema experience and 3DTV experience is a little bit of a hassle sometimes however it doesn’t need to be any more according to The Wall Street Journal, who have said that Sony, Samsung and Panasonic have signed an agreement with XpandD to develop and utilise one standard technology for 3D glasses, meaning for no longer will you be fumbling around the back of the sofa for glasses which won’t work.

On the standardisation, XpandD, the company at the heart of this latest agreement, have said that “This initiative reinforces the consumer electronics industry’s commitment to highest 3D quality and provides technology consumers and theatre-goers with a simple but powerful solution to the challenge of interoperability”.

Overall we think is a good sign for 3D, offering a level of standard across the technology which hasn’t been there in the past. Head on over to the source below to read more (you’ll have to sign up, though :/).

It is about time that audiovisual companies joined forces to make 3D a more accessible technology for everyone. At the moment there are too many walls in the way of it becoming a household staple and the glasses is one of them.
