Technology: The decade ahead
The advancement in technological hardware has changed vastly over the last ten years. If you were to walk in to a bar with an iPhone in 1998, and boast that your small hand held device was more powerful nay more functional than the most expensive computer in the world they’d laugh at you, throw a dart in your face and kick you to the gutter.
Predicting the future is a hard thing to do, where even the most seasoned professionals make big mistakes with their assumptions – people assume a lot, ‘people’ assumed that there would never be a market for PC’s, the Microsoft CEO said there was no market for the iPhone and Dell thought that Netbooks were no worthy investment.
They were all wrong, and they all either jumped the band wagon or looked on in disbelief.
As humans we all want to communicate. In order to communicate further in the future we need faster, more powerful and more efficient gadgets. The decade ahead should be home to computers which are around 5X the speed they are at the moment, processors will advance far further as will OS’s and the iPhone will be an antique worth nothing but for its scrap value.
I’d like to think everything was touch sensitive – but with more functionality and a higher battery life. I want battery charging to be seamless and wireless, and I would like some consumers electronics to not cost the earth – with advancements in the materials that are used by manufacturers.
What would you guys like to see in the future?

Honestly? I would like the Wii 2 to be as powerful as a PS3. I would like the iPhone to multi-task. I would like to see WM7 on more mobile phones. I would like the iPad to be cheaper – preferably free, because that is all it is worth. I would like to see consumer viable spacecraft, so I can see space. I want the concord to be re-designed and re-distributed. Most of all I want an AMOLED TV
