Toshiba announces 367ppi smartphone, pixel junkies unite
In the world of displays Samsung and Apple have the best with their Super AMOLED display and Retina Display, however Toshiba has now trumped them both in the pixel sphere after announcing that a smartphone with 367ppi (pixels per inch) is to be released later this year. The display itself has been on display at SID 2011, however whether or not this this display will sell well due to it’s pixel packed display within smartphones is another question. In order to sell a phone using this display as its USP in numbers, Toshiba will have to design the smartphone very well indeed, and make it as thin as possible to compete with the Samsung Galaxy S II and even NEC’s thinnest phone in the world.
