Toshiba Excite in the wild, another pointless tablet coming soon?

The original iPad. The iPad 2. The Motorola Xoom. The Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1. The Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9. The HTC Flyer. The Acer Iconia Tab. The Advent Vega. The ASUS EEE Pad Transformer. The ASUS EEE Slate 121. The Blackberry Playbook. The Packard Bell Liberty Tablet. The Dell Streak. The Sony S1 (coming soon). The LG Optimus Pad. The Notion Ink Adam.
Let’s be honest the above list is exhaustive and confusing. All being tablets, the above list could also be considered overwhelming to the average consumer and those who have no specific brand allegiance and are looking for the best tablet for them. So, then, how does yet another addition to the above list sound? Good? Bad? Well we think it sounds unnecessary in a competition where mobile manufacturers are dominant (Apple, Samsung and Motorola). Toshiba thinks differently though, and their brand new Toshiba Excite tablet has been spotted in the wild playing nicely with Android Honeycomb. Specification wise, the Excite will probably ship with a 1.5GHz processor and various connectivity ports (USB, SD) as well as 1GB of RAM.
We’ll let you as the consumer decide whether or not the world needs yet another tablet which lets be honest isn’t going to set the world alight (ooh), however for us, meh.
