UN talks internet access, makes it a human right
In recent talks held in Europe the United Nations has discussed internet access as a topic for atleast 3 months now and have officially declared it a human right, according to the new declaration which came after the UN Human Rights council’s 17th session. The UN reached the conclusion that the internet has changed in a “unique and transformative” way , and that the new act will help people internationally exercise their rights, access information freely and have a positive impact on the world’s society.
This new act comes as news as the Syrian government shut down networks across their country in a supposed attempt to prevent its citizen’s from accessing global news and information.
