US Supreme Court strikes down selling violent games to children law
This is probably one of the weirdest pieces of news i’ve read all day, however in case you have missed it, the US Supreme Court has kicked to the kerb a law that restricts the sale of violent video games to children, citing that violent games are “free speech”. This move from the US Supreme Court has naturally been appluaded by many video game makers including the Entertainment Software Association, however back in 2005 the law was passed due to a link being found between violent games and violent behaviour in children.
The law was voted out at a ratio of 7 – 2 in the US Supreme Court.
