Student makes $130,000 selling White iPhone 4 conversion kits

[ 8 ] Posted by on November 17, 2010

Gagging for a white iPhone 4? Well you are not alone. Apparently hundreds of people are because a student who set up the website www.whiteiphone4now.com has made $130,000 selling conversion kits at £188 a piece.

The conversion kits, which consist of white front plates, back plates and home buttons, plus the necessary tools required for the switch. The parts themselves are also legit, and are made up of parts largely sourced directly from Apple’s manufacturer Foxconn.

At just 17 years old Fei Lam, a New York student, said that he has a personal contact at the controversial manufacturer, citing that he “knew a guy from a few years back that had somewhat of a relationship with folks in Foxconn”.

The bad news for Fei Lam though is that he has an undergoing private investigator barking in his ears, claiming that “his parts are either stolen or counterfeit”. We beg to differ, and admire Fei Lam’s entrepreneurial spirit.
