Woman sues Google Maps because a car hits her

From back and forth tantrum throwing corporate lawsuits all the way to consumers seeking refunds for damaged goods this technology blog has heard and covered it all. But this latest lawsuit, where a woman sues Google Maps because a car hits her, has to be one of the most whacky lawsuits Google has ever encountered.
In this latest lawsuit, Google has been named as a defendant in a road traffic lawsuit in America. Lauren Rosenberg, from Utah, is suing the driver of the car that hit her and Google for telling her to cross the road in the first place. The plaintiff had accessed Google Maps on her mobile phone and was walking down a rural highway, alongside vehicles travelling at high speed, when she was hit.
In her case, Lauren Rosenberg claims that Google has a ‘legal duty’ to warn road users of the dangers faced on certain highways and bypasses, and the failure of this is breaching Google’s own code of conduct within Google Maps. She is seeking over $100,000 reimbursement for medical expenses and lost wages.
