Woolly Mammoths to be cloned next year

It was bound to get the nod eventually and it just has. According to Wired, Woolly Mammoths may very well be roaming the earth next year after researchers from the Sakha Republic’s mammoth museum and Japan’s Kinki University have announced that with the help of a well preserved thigh bone with near intact bone marrow, they are going to start the process of cloning the Mammoth and bring it back from the dead.
They will do this by taking nuclei of the marrow cells and applying them to an Elephants egg cell. Pretty interesting thought, huh? Personally, we reckon’ when an animal goes extinct they should be left as such, as they died out for a reason, but we’re not scientists and don’t have a particular fantasy towards cloning.
