Xbox Kinect wins T3 Gadget of the Year award, beats your ‘pad

Your tablet might be the single best thing since sliced bread for you, but for numerous others Xbox Kinect is the thing to have. In a shock win, Microsoft’s Xbox Kinect has won the T3 Gadget of the Year award beating Apple’s iPad 2, Amazon’s Kindle and even the Nintendo 3DS in user votes to be crowned this years prestigious winner. Unsurprisingly, Kinect also won the ‘Gaming Gadget of the Year’ award, too.
“The Kinect is not only an amazing gadget for today, it’s a mouth-watering technological prospect for tomorrow too,” said T3 Editor and Awards judge Luke Peters.
Microsoft’s Xbox Kinect allows gamers to control certain games through movement, and radically changed the way in which Xbox users used their consoles to both play games and consume online media, with some applications also being controllable through Kinect.
