Youtube UK movie rentals a go-go, streaming now

iTunes, Lovefilm, Blinkbox, Blockbuster; it’s not that the online movie rental market is shy of options, it is just that if there was any company that could dominate it massively, then it’s Google with You Tube, and they have now kick started their UK movie rental programme here in the UK.
Yes it’s completely official, and you will be able to rent movies from £2.49 and £3.49 a time, getting a steady 30 days to watch it whacked in to the price and 48 hours to finish it once initially played. All you need to do to get yourself some Youtube movie action is sign up for a Google Checkout account (a Gmail account with a linked credit or debit card) and you will be away, watching films all night long. For the more cautious consumers however, you will have already noted that Lovefilm’s service is significantly cheaper than Google’s Youtube service when watching mass films, as Lovefilm offers unlimited movies from £10 per month (Google needs no monthly contract, though).
YouTube launched its US video-on-demand service in May as part of its shift away from short, low-quality clips that made the site so popular.
